The Best is Yet to Come

Please forgive me, some how the previous post got posted before I was ready to post!  You know, after a year, I still don't get this blogging, nor am I very technical.  Anyway, I thought you might get a kick out of seeing that Quilt Market is not just sitting and looking at sample after sample of fabric all day.

Fall Quilt Market 2010 in Houston

Mr. T and I got back from the Fall International Quilt Market this week.  The weather was absolutely beautiful!  Not like the rainy weather we got last year.  The Market seemed a little more subdued this year...maybe because of the economy.  Got the same vibe from some of the other shop owners.  Needless to say, we still had a great time and ordered some wonderful fabrics that will be in the shop in the upcoming months.

I just wanted to share some of the things I saw at Market.  Hope you enjoy!

Dreamy Dream On

"Chiklet was so tired. All she wanted was to fall asleep. But the bump in the bed was keeping her awake. "What to do" she thought. "I know...place all my beautiful quilts one on top of another." Sweet dreams all night!"

This was the short story for Urban Chik's Dream On collection that was presented in Moda's Dream On fabric preview catalog at the Spring Quilt Market in Minneapolis.

I was so excited to receive this long-awaited collection this week and couldn't wait to get it listed in the shop. This collection was inspired by the look of those "dreamy" vintage sheets of the "good ole days". And, I'm already invisioning a fabulous quilt (or quilts) made out of this grouping.

Merriam-Webster's definition of BLISS:

1: complete happiness
2: paradise, heaven

That's pretty much how I felt when I received the mother and daughter team, Bonnie Olaveson & Camille Roskelley's new collection for Moda named BLISS. The colors are some of my favorite and mix and match so well.

Also, if you want a Christmas fabric that doesn't look like your traditional Christmas fabric, Bliss may be what you're looking for with the soft pinks, deep reds, lime greens and aquas.










And, if you're needing a fast project for a gift, this cheater quilt fabric might just be the answer!
